I woke up this morning like I do any other morning. Except I found news that the Buddhist temple I’ve gone to for practically my whole life is gone.
I’m still in shock that I didn’t want to believe it, but then as the news anchor confirmed that it was, in fact, the temple. My heart dropped.
I spent so many years there; learning, praying, hanging out with friends, growing and to see it all just burn away in the early hours in the morning, there’s absolutely no words to describe how I feel.
My thoughts are with the Lao community and the monks that lived there. And pray that everyone is alright. I was told that EVERYTHING is just gone. I’ll probably go by the temple today to pay my respects.
